My Background
After the four years of Freedom of India from the British colony with the inherent contradiction of the basic problems remain unsolved and unending to solve them during the freedom movement also on in dramatic pretensions. In such a space and time, I was born in a lower middle class having no background of art and literature. Every Declaration of that problems of Caste (verna) system and Religion depravity continues to rise day by day. But with all these paradoxical events steadily moved ahead unhindered and it now reach the era of globalization manifesting itself in various forms as I find one in the prevailing system. Undoubtedly, it is the era of onslaught of regressive culture and multiple ideological invasions.
In fact, it has always been the endeavour of the ruling class to make the ‘culture’ – it is one of the weapon for ruling class. The influence of scientific and rational thinking in art, literature, and other field brought the ‘man’ at the centre stage of thinking. The call of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity gave birth to Renaissance movement in France. Elsewhere this rationality and scientific thinking began to unfold the truth behind the pseudo-power of divinity. With the freedom and thought the ‘human’ factor assumed more and more prominence and in art, literature – democratic, progressive, drown trodden (dalits), tribals, etc. These trend were seen to leave behind romanticism, mysticism, elitist literature, art, etc. In fact, if democratic dalit and progressive literature is the journey of man’s thinking, then this is also a creator and originator of a new vision and perspective. Man is the centre of this trend; to be more precise, even among man is, dalit, exploited, women and children. Human is the primary unit of society. Therefore, he is live, conscious, real and not an imaginary object. He is stark reality and therefore he thinks, dreams, feels agony and has a future.
I am not merely observer but actively associated with the movement as this was the teaching of Great Thinker and Fighter Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and Martyr Shahid Bhagat Singh. Obviously, the impact of this movement has become a school of learning to me. Though technically, I have not touched the floor of Academic Institute. But the school of movement deeply dig the many layers in my heart. That layers of suffering of society exploded through my short-stories, sculpture and paintings like a movement on the street. They descended from the stairs to the streets and crossroads. People suddenly stopped on the street and began to say something : this is right. After all we wander in those elite/gorgeous art galleries. Where music of life is dead. Here the air is fresh. Here is water and also the land. People are connected with each other and people come to see this form of art. What is there except deadness? It was the support of the movement and vice-versa, which used to say that we are with the people. We reject the nobility/academia. I was frightened and saw the sculptures/paintings/sketches are smiling. They went ahead, the eyes were shaky. In the struggle and movement, remembered to walk together. To me, it is not the internet ejaculation at all. It is matter of soil related to people’s art and movement. Is not it!
My Medium
I use many different mediums, such as terra cotta, stone, wood, ink & oil pastels. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.
